Annah Kenna is a Senior Associate in our Technology department. She advises Irish and international businesses on the development, commercialisation and protection of intellectual property rights and associated matters including advising on product packaging and advertising claims. Annah is a registered trade mark agent and manages the trade mark portfolios of a number of clients who are household names.

Annah is also a skilled contract lawyer and regularly advises both customers and suppliers on strategic contracts including in the context of outsourcing arrangements, logistics, distribution, licensing and SaaS.

Barry Scannell is internationally recognised as a leading expert in the area of AI law. He advises clients on issues relating to text and data mining, AI copyright infringement, machine learning, and AI ownership. He has expertise in AI specific contracts, licences, and dataset agreements. Barry specialises in advising on the AI Act and other legislation such as the DSA and GDPR from an AI compliance perspective.

Barry was appointed by the Irish Government to Ireland’s AI Advisory Council; has recently completed the writing stage of his PhD on AI and copyright; and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland’s IP & Technology Committee.

John O'Connor specialises in complex and large scale technology and outsourcing transactions including systems integration and implementation arrangements, licensing, IT and business process outsourcings and cloud services.

John is also a specialist in the area of privacy, data protection and cyber security law and advises on general compliance, data transfers, hosting, issue management and best practice. He has gained particular experience of advising technology, life sciences and financial services organisations on major outsourcings and on ‘big data’ projects including the procurement and deployment of FinTech. He is a highly experienced lawyer and prior to joining William Fry led the Technology and Data Protection practices of another leading Irish law firm.

Jordie Sattar is an Associate in our Technology department. He provides strategic legal support to high-profile clients on large-scale privacy and data protection matters, including complex international data transfers, contentious data subject rights actions and regulatory compliance projects.

Jordie has been pivotal to leading clients on a host of legal technology and contractual issues, with a specific interest in the interplay between EU tech regulation and existing data protection laws. He advises on agile commercial strategies for the launch of new products and services, and drafts all types of strategic technology contracts.

Laura Casey is an Associate in our Technology department, specialising in the intricate and ever-changing legal landscape of technology, intellectual property, contracts, AI, data protection, and content law, and their intersections. She has a keen interest in e-commerce law and is well-versed in advising clients on the regulation of online gaming, as well as consumer goods and services sold digitally, prize promotions, and advertising and marketing rules. Laura is also skilled at helping clients to understand their obligations under various digital services laws, including the Digital Services Act and the Online Safety and Media Regulation Act and the European Accessibility Act. She supports clients in developing compliance programs, ensures that regulatory obligations are incorporated into contracts as needed, and guides them through interactions with relevant regulators.  Laura's proficiency in data protection laws and regulations further enhances her ability to support clients in maintaining robust data protection measures in the online space.

Leo Moore a senior member of the firm’s Inward Investment and US market group and the firm’s Strategy Implementation Partner.  He is a member of iTechLaw, INTA, SCL, IAPP and the Law Society of Ireland IP & DP Committee.

Technology: Leo advises domestic and multi-national companies on digital transformation projects, outsourcing, software licensing and development, new technologies (including AI), e-commerce, and strategic legal due diligence. He advises on the EU digital reform legislation package such as on AI (Artificial Intelligence), DSA (Digital Services Act), NIS2.

Data Protection: His extensive experience on data protection and cyber security matters includes advising companies in sectors such as Technology, Sport, Financial Services, and Food & Beverage on data protection (including GDPR) compliance programmes, marketing, international transfers, data breach and cyber incident management, and engagements with Data Protection regulators.

Louisa Muldowney is an Associate in the Technology Department, specialising in commercial contracts, data protection, intellectual property and artificial intelligence. Louisa has experience in drafting a range of supply, distribution and logistics agreements, advising on all aspects of the protection of intellectual property, and assisting clients in data protection compliance projects. Louisa advises on the EU AI Act and delivers practical solutions for AI Act readiness programmes of varying sizes for clients.

Rachel Hayes specialises in privacy & data protection matters, and by extension, the ever-evolving areas of cybersecurity, AI, data and content regulation.

Rachel works closely with indigenous and multinational clients on all matters concerning data protection & privacy. Her extensive experience ranges from advising on global projects, complex data transfers, personal data breaches / cyber incidents & reputation management, regulatory investigations, individual complaints/rights requests, data subject claims/privacy litigation and general compliance matters. She is also focused on the growing video games industry within Ireland.

Susan Walsh

Susan Walsh is admitted to practice as a solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales and New South Wales. Susan holds a Master in business management as well as a Master of Laws, Media and Technology Law.

Susan specialises in technology contracts and outsourcing, software licensing, IP, commercial contracts, AI and other new and emerging technologies.

Susan held the role of general counsel of an Irish technology company and then worked in the Sydney office of one of Australia’s largest law firms. There, Susan negotiated complex digital transformation contracts, mission-critical IT outsourcing arrangements and commercial agreements, and she advised clients on data protection and privacy, and emerging technologies across the finance, federal and state government, automotive, retail and health sectors. Susan also held the role of senior technology lawyer at the Sydney headquarters of an Australian investment bank with global operations and there led the negotiation of complex regulated IT outsourcing arrangements for the group as well as arrangements with AI providers.
