David Fagan has been involved in representing clients that have come to the attention of the Data Protection Commissioner’s office in their major investigations over the last few years.           
 
David also has substantial experience of advisory and contentious data protection issues in relation to HR matters and works closely with the firm's clients in advising on employee rights, company policies and broader data protection issues.  He also provides freedom of information advice.

Gary Davis, Deputy Commissioner at the Data Protection Commissioner's Office recently described David as "pro-active in terms of identifying potential issues, and solution orientated in agreeing viable means of achieving compliance with this Office.  His friendly and engaged approach ensures that outcomes can be achieved that are workable for his clients and at the same time are compliant with the requirements of the Data Protection Acts".

David speaks regularly on data protection at seminars and conferences, and contributes articles to his firm’s quarterly client publication.  David is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

David is described in Chambers Europe as being "particularly strong" on data protection issues.
